We are evaluating Morocco for a light manufacturing operation serving Europe and West Africa. Tangier looks compelling because of Tanger Med and industrial zones, but Casablanca has management depth and Rabat has government proximity.
The product is electrical components, not heavy industry. Export speed and supplier ecosystem matter more than domestic retail access. What should we weigh most heavily?

If export logistics is the main driver, Tangier is hard to beat. Tanger Med has built a true industrial-port platform, not just a port. Casablanca gives you deeper corporate services and domestic market access, but for Europe-facing manufacturing I would start with Tangier and keep Casablanca as the management/support city.
Agree. I would score it as Tangier for logistics and industrial clustering, Casablanca for executive recruitment and services, Rabat for government/regulatory. The best model may be plant near Tangier/Tetouan and small commercial/management presence in Casablanca.
That matches what we are seeing. The question is whether local supplier depth outside automotive is mature enough for electronics-adjacent assembly.
For CityCalc scoring, this thread should separate 'port connectivity' from 'white-collar talent' and 'domestic market access.' Tangier can rank high in logistics/manufacturing even if Casablanca ranks higher for professional services.
